The student pathway is the fastest way to immigrate to Canada for the following reasons:

1. Studying in Canada will give you extra points for immigration.

Many people believe that the Canadian Express Entry system is the best way to immigrate to Canada by gathering points. However, it is not as fast and efficient as the study pathway. If you successfully complete a Canadian education of 2 years, whether a diploma or master’s in eligible schools, you will automatically be given 15 points. If you complete a diploma or degree program that lasts for more than 3 years, you will earn an additional 30 points. Having Canadian credentials is a clear indication to Canadian immigration that your skills, combined with a Canadian education, make you a suitable candidate to address the labor shortage in Canada. Employers will be more than happy to employ you, and it will be easier to justify to IRCC that you are a better candidate to have a work permit or a permanent resident status, especially if the program you enroll in includes a co-op or internship, or if your desired job or career falls under NOC categories A, B, or O (National Occupational Classification).

2. Studying in Canada will give you extra points by gaining Canadian work experience.

Canada is looking into how much experience a skilled worker has, with Canadian work experience being more highly valued. Fortunately, Canada does not only give you a diploma but also entitles you to have a work permit making sure that whatever you learn from school will be applied in a real-world situation. After graduation, you are free to apply for a Post Graduate Work Permit (PGWP), which is only given to people who graduated from a designated learning institution, allowing you to work in Canada and jumpstart your career. If you study for 1 year, you will be given up to a 1-year post-graduate permit, and if you study for 2 years, you will be given up to a 3-year post-graduate work permit, which is what we often process for the majority of our customers. This will give them extra points when it comes to immigration and give them enough time to process their permanent residency. If done correctly, you can earn up to a whopping 50 points.

3. Studying in Canada will open more pathways for you.

Another special pathway for international graduates is through the Provincial Nominee Program (PNP), which is specifically designed for Canadian graduates with diplomas or even master’s degrees who want to stay permanently in Canada. Every province in Canada has a PNP, and pathways like this target specific age groups or specific skilled jobs. Once you’ve been nominated by your province, you will be given 600 points which will increase your chance at permanent residency. Every two weeks, IRCC holds Express Entry draws inviting the highest-ranked candidates to apply for permanent residency. A provincial nomination increases the likelihood of obtaining permanent residency and is one of several options for skilled workers to immigrate to Canada.
